Fanmade Tron video

Impressive fanmade Tron video featuring the return of Sark/Dillinger. Just like the real Tron: Legacy, the dialog is painfully clunky and goes on for way to long. Via.

Link roundup

1. Someone uploaded Tron: Legacy to Youtube - - the full movie as one, two-hour video. This has to be by Disney, right? It was mentioned on Reddit hours ago, and yet Disney hasn't taken it down. Or does it take much longer than I think for infringing videos to be removed?

2. Recipe for Horseradish Cream Sauce (so good with prime rib).

3. Noxzema now has two fewer ounces than it used to, but comes in the same size container - - which features a false bottom to disguise the smaller amount of product.

Link roundup

1. Tim Davis, a talented miniature painter, is looking for commissions.

2. Snuggie based on the Artist Formerly Known as Prince.

3. Tron vs. MCP animated gif.

Tron light cycle board game

Homemade Tron light cycle board game:
- The board is made from two pieces of smoked acrylic, which I etched on an Epilog laser cutter at my local Tech Shop. The grid was originally supposed to be edge-lit by LEDs, but the tint in the acrylic kept the light from penetrating. So, I taped off and painted the grid with blacklight-reactive paint.
- I cut the light trails out of fluorescent orange and blue acrylic, also on the laser cutter.
- I bought the TRON vehicles and Recognizer carrying case. I modded the carrying case a bit to include rows of blue and blacklight LEDs. I am in the process of repainting the vehicles with blacklight-reactive paint.
- I'm still finishing the carrying cases for the light trails, one of which is in the video. These were made of wood, also on the laser cutter.
- Everything is sitting atop a giant lazy susan that I made for gaming.

Daft Punk - Derezzed (The Glitch Mob Remix)

My new favorite song, Daft Punk - Derezzed (The Glitch Mob Remix) from the Tron: Legacy Reconfigured album. That's the official video above, with lots of footage from the movie.

But I also liked the image chosen by this fan uploaded video - - nice and simple and still feels like Tron:

$8 to download the entire album at Amazon, which also gives you an extra 15 gigs of online storage.

Spectrum Awards 18 - - part 2

The second in a series of posts looking at artists featured in Spectrum 18. The art isn't necessarily what will appear in Spectrum 18, just what caught my eye. Here's part 1.

Dracula by Grant Fuhst.

Ms. Marvel by Aly Fell, who has various prints on sale here.

Magic: The Gathering card by Jesper Ejsing.

Laura Diehl painted a fantasy portrait of herself and her husband as kids. (She has lots of prints on sale here.)

Here's the first in a series of posts looking at artists featured in Spectrum 18. The art isn't necessarily what will appear in Spectrum 18, just what caught my eye.

A few of Matt Cavota's huge number of Magic: The Gathering cards.

The Age of Steam by Antonio Caparo.

Monsters by John Brosio. The first is available as a print here. And don't miss his Return of the Jedi painting.

New Tron footage reminds how terrible the plot and acting were in Tron: Legacy

Tron: Legacy was great when people were racing light cycles, and terrible the rest of the time. This ten minute video is apparently an extra on the Tron: Legacy DVD, and mostly shows what happened between Tron and Tron: Legacy (lots of insipid protesting against Encom). The last minute or so is a bridge between Tron: Legacy and Tron 3. It's unwatchably boring. As much as I love Tron, the only reason I watched all of this video was for purposes of writing this post. Trailer for the Tron Uprising animated series

Solid-looking trailer for Disney XD's upcoming Tron Uprising animated series. Note the last name in the credits and imagine Pee-wee Herman in the Tron world:
