Today I'm putting on a lil showcase for you on the Designers in the Rad Minds Inc. Group. I recently joined it as a designer myself, and the designers in it are awesome. I've created 4 looks for you out of the various giveaways in the various stores. The only full priced items in the whole post are the hairs, so enjoy all these steals!

A Little about Rad Minds Inc.

Quoted straight from the group notecard:

RMI is a group that is dedicated to supporting and promoting quality alternative designers here in Second Life. The group is not limited to one style, but rather embraces all styles that are off the beaten path. From the slightly odd to the most extreme, Rad has it all.

My goals for Rad are to succeed where other groups have, in my opinion, failed. There are plenty of fashion groups out there, but it seems they get over run with designers of low quality and/or members who are looking for handouts. Also, many of the these groups are either too focused on certain styles, or not focused enough, so I am trying to find a middle ground. Because of these issues, many good designers, old and new, get overlooked. This is something I want to change and is why I started this group.

My hope for Rad is to support quality designers of many types and to offer group members exclusive gifts, hunts, sales, etc.. There is no fee for getting into the group, but designers may set gifts out for group members only and charge 10-20L instead of for free. This helps the designers, as well as the group, by keeping out the people who pop in and out of groups just to get free stuff.

I mentioned exclusive gifts, hunts, sales and more. In this group you will receive gifts from the designers at their discretion. Any hunts and/or events that are organized will not be free, but rather cost a small fee per item (10L-50L). This is to further support the designers and keep from breaking your linden wallets while giving you access to quality items.

If you are looking for quality alternative items and like to support their designers, then Rad would be a great group for you.

A Different Sort of Ship

I'm normally off on a different sort of ship. You know, the kind that goes around space? but that is another tale to tell.

This one is of Pirate Helena!


It's not often a woman of my caliber crashes anything. Specially a ship, but it does happen from time to time, normally after a few centuries of boredom.

What you need when you decide to do something like this is a hot little outfit to win over the locals!

Too bad where I decided to crash it was home of foot tall furry critters all running around and fishing. Still to this day this world amazes me. Wonder if they would be yummy to eat? *ponders*


To appease the denizens of your new home, you must have something on your body. Deviance is the place for costumes of all sorts, and there is more then a few in the Lucky Cupcake(Like this Pirate Costume, previously blogged a year ago in the pink version) and some others in the Lucky Chair. Surreal makes wonderful garments that are constantly on this blog, she is generous, talented, and a dreamer at heart.

Next to be a real pirate you need your eyepatch. Do you really NEED one? NO. Do you really WANT one? Yes!

But why go normal, go all out! This eyepatch is a special gift from Actuate Eden to celebrate their new store. Thank the gods it wasn't pink, I'd have cried!


Now you could wear the hat that comes with the outfit . . . or you could grab this one that is currently in the Rad Minds Hunt. You never can have enough pirate hats right? Morrigan Denimore of The Black Canary made this little beauty. There actually are 2 versions, so more fun for you.


As with most things, I'm not totally right. A far bit of strange was to be had on the sea in my merry vessel. If your something otherworldly, but like to fit in somewhat and must be in more human appearance, eyes are the way to go. They really can give that one element of "odd". Let everyone know who you really are, Eh?

We have all heard that Phoenix Rising is leaving sl and has a big ass L$100 sale going on. What you all might not have known was in July Ashoka place some discontinuation stuff out way way in the back of her store. Some of it is still out, and it is priced between L$1-L$15.

I recently stumbled across a little shop called Into the Hallow while on a different sort of adventure. Now Dame Hallow has a generous heart, and even tho new to our SL world, she is more then generous. The other awesome this is her items are quality items. She enjoyed the post I did on my own blog so much, and a few others from bloggers on the grid, that she made a special Blog-tastic gift(the dress above is part of this gift)! It is for her group members only, but the group is free to join. It seems with each notice(and the come frequently) she has her new releases, but also switches up her lucky chair and MM board. She not only has the MM board and Lucky Chair, but just put up a Gacha that has some really awesome Hats. You can see them on her Flickr HERE!


Also part of the Blog-tastic Gift is this lil nose moth. In the store you will also find a package of eyes as a gift. I'm wearing the one eye here, This Broken Lens eye in Sepia Dark.


You can also get this super cute Hat in the inworld update group, just click her joiner near the Lucky Chair to get an invite. I'm also wearing the other version of the This Broken Lens eyes. The backgrounds shown all thru the post are also a gift at the store, I did change the colouring a bit on this one, but the pack comes with 6 dark themed colourings. They were gift wrap textures, but I sort of thought I could get away blogging with them =)

Now part of the reason I found Into the Hallow was because of a new group for fans of Horror/Macabre. It's called Woeful Wednesdays. It will eventually comprise of 40 designers, each bring you a design every wednesday with the darker themes in mind. These items will be set for only L$50.

The Stringer Mausoleum is in this event, and I have to say, The Stringer is very happy about it! Here is what I made for the event. This will be a special edition, a "Tamer" version will be going into the store. It also is a preview of my new 2010 hair textures. I'll have next to the vendor L$1 pack of wearable tester hairs, so you can see the texture before you buy it. What is a wearable tester hair? Regular hair actually, no signs, copy/mod. It's just the way I do my testers, so enjoy!
